Many factors in today’s food system are changing. However, two factors are evergreen: sustainability and food safety. Today’s producers are being challenged to produce more food with fewer resources, ensuring that the production does not deplete resources and that the food produced is safe.
In addition, consumers are becoming more involved with their food choices and how their food is made. They want to know where it comes from, how it is produced, and the health benefits it provides, all the while looking to get more for their money. Above all else, they want their food to be safe.
Our customers want solutions to their animal agriculture challenges and world-class, attentive service. They want us to help them become more productive and more profitable, while meeting the social standards of the consumer.
Within this framework, it is imperative that we reflect upon and refine current methods to ensure we can help our customers meet these needs. Active communication and involvement with stakeholders, including food producers, consumers, employees, suppliers, distributors, business partners, and our communities, is crucial to maintaining this effort. It is in the best interest of all to make sure our food supply is produced responsibly—starting with the feed industry. By working together, at all levels of the food supply chain, the industry can more efficiently and profitably deliver products to meet these requirements.
Our commitment to sustainability enriches everything we do at Novus, and this report serves to reflect on the advancements in responsible and sustainable business practices. I encourage you to take a look at our eighth annual Novus Sustainability Report, and I welcome your feedback.
