Professor David Hughes (Emeritus Professor of Food Marketing, Imperial College London) discussed on how Covid-19 has accelerated some consumer and food industry trends and slowed down others. From a consumer perspective, the world of protein is getting much wider - much more than meat & eggs, with dairy and plant proteins increasing in influence. Professor Hughes presented on if this move is a competitive threat for the meat and livestock industry and if the industry is in good shape to compete in a post-Covid world.
